Brooks 10k
With the black clouds overhead watching us as we made our way down to the seafront via the Pavilion, I was wondering if this was going to be a washout. I should have known; Brighton has this knack of sorting out the weather for its running events. SO many times, there’s been dodgy weather in the week running up to the event and then by some miracle the couple of hours while the event is on, the sun shines. This morning was no exception (and it’s chucking it down now, just a handful of hours after crossing that finish line…!)
So, the weather was kind, the organisation was yet again spot on, the volunteers were great (could perhaps have handed out the water at the turn instead of those poor runners who needed it having to stop, rip open the box and get their own) and the results texts were immediate. Well done Brooks 10k team!
But an even greater well done goes to our lovely runners who turn up consistently, week after week come rain or shine and today their hard work paid off. The course was a little busier than in previous years (increased total number of runners) which made a bit more people dodging necessary but that didn’t stop some stonking runs and fabulous ‘Jo’s Thing finishes’! #sprint
Amanda’s target was sub 60 minutes. Her result? 59.59. Must have been those pink nails… And look at Anna’s number – 118 – cracking.
Well done all of you who ran, hope you enjoyed it. Have a few days off running and then let’s crack on with the next target. Brighton half, anyone?
